A quick list of recent and upcoming releases in the fantasy and paranormal romance genre featuring black characters.
Like I said, I'm tried of combing through Google for the books I'm looking for, so I'm putting them all in one easy to find place. Here are some books that came out recently that you might be interested in.
Be sure to check the spice rating and any content warnings before picking up a title, so you find the book that's right for you.

"Basil Atkins' once normal way of life gets upturned in what feels like a second. Not only does she discover that one of her fathers is descended from a lineage of werewolves, which she learns while the world is ending, she and her parents are forced to try to make a new life despite the fact that humanity is crumbling all over the globe.
Then, just when she believes she's finally getting a handle on this New World Order, two brothers show up. Brothers who are Weres themselves.
Brothers who she finds herself beginning to develop feelings for.
But she's human. Regardless of how she feels, there's no way she can truly make a life with either Justin or Vincent. Unless there's something about her that she still doesn't know..."
The cover art got me with this one. Yes, I judge books by their covers. If you don't, I'm not sure how you're living. I'm hoping this book pans out in a polyamorous fashion, as opposed to the classic love triangle, but we shall see.

"He's the oldest of his kind. Terrifying. I'm human, insignificant, scared and scarred. It shouldn’t be too hard to escape his notice. But wait…why is he walking over here? He…wants to dine with me. No. He must want more…
Justice dealer of the seven regions, Lahve is tasked with maintaining order. His focus should be on that, not on a female who is too young for him by several hundred lifetimes.
She has been scarred by this world and Lahve cannot undo her past. She wants to be left alone, but he cannot do that, either. Because when enemy gangs move to overtake their community, he needs her help to track them into Population and cut them off.
She fears recapture, but how can he make her understand that he is the most powerful creature in this world and he will slaughter any who venture too close? Because she is the only human who has ever made him feel what he’s never felt: Human. And, if she does not agree to help him hunt down their shared enemies, humanity itself may be lost.
He looks at me like I'm crazy when I show up to dinner with...expectations, because he has expectations, too...like helping him save the world."
Elizabeth Stephens is a fellow bookstagrammer and if her content tells you anything its that this one will be hot!

"Sparks fly when the hunter becomes the hunted.
Half-elven bounty hunter Lya Desmarais is living in exile in North Carolina after getting into trouble back home. When her boss makes it clear he's got a target on her back, she seeks dangerous allies to regain control of her future.
Vampire vagabond Cade is running from his past and thirsty for more powerful blood than mundanes can offer. Most of Otherside is off-limits, but the human-blooded are fair game. When he and Lya cross paths in a scandalously sexy way at a Raleigh nightclub, Cade finds the perfect target.
But nothing is ever as straightforward as it seems in the supernatural community, not even lust. And for love to win, predator and prey must find a way to meet in the middle—or die trying.
Told from two perspectives, this red-hot, action-packed vampire romance has no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a happy ending."
I've heard great things about Whitney Hill's other work and I'm excited to see where this book takes us. Book Two - Curses and Faith will be released June 2022.
🥵 - TBD

"When vampires play with their food, new creatures are born.
Remy's hope to rid her territory of a vampire invasion backfires when she gets captured outside of the vampire's new home. Though she hoped to escape, Xavier, the head of the den, had other thoughts. Tempted by the sweet delicacy that was fairy blood, he kept her.
What started as an innocent effort to preserve the fairies' way of life ended in death.
Remy's misguided efforts would set off a chain of events that would change the face of Novia forever."
The premise of this book is interesting because it's based on well-known TikTok creators. Might read it just to see if I can guess who!
