Moreau Writes - 2025 Publishing Year

Writer: R. A. Moreau R. A. Moreau

It's that time again! Where we all panic and feel like we have to set a bunch of ridiculous goals to set ourselves up for a successful year. Does it stress me out? Yes. Am I doing it anyway? Also yes.

I'm a Virgo what do you want from me...

What's on the schedule?

  1. The Rise of Kek - Book two in The Book of Kan series is tentatively scheduled to release April 28, 2025. You can find the Amazon pre-order link here.

I'll be releasing the official blurb here shortly, and the cover art is due to be finalized at the start of February! I'm geeked!

  2. Celestial Bodies: The White Dragon's Widow - Tentatively scheduled for Aug. 2025 (Amazon pre-order available here)

The official vibe is: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde meets Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This installment of Celestial Bodies will follow Dawn and Aros as The Serpent sets her sights on the Martian crown. Apollo and Celeste will make an appearance, but we will meet a new cast of characters, and if I'm being honest, I'm down bad for Aros.

That's all I've got up my sleeve for publishing this year. Although, I am hopeful to start teasing something else toward the end of the year to be released in early 2026. We shall see!

Goal Setting

I'm actually terrified to release this publicly, but I need to do it for accountability purposes. So here goes nothing!

  1. Sales Goal - 20,000 Copies across all new releases and existing publications

This number feels insane. But even if we achieve half of that, I'll be happy as a peach. The real goal is to be able to say my books paid for my wedding. So cheers to that!

  2. Pre-Order Goal - 500 Per New Release

This number feels less insane. But the ramp-up to previous releases had a very long runway, and this time, we're working in a shorter timeframe, so I've got to put my big-girl marketing pants on and get cracking. If you see me posting 80 times a day - yes, you did and please like, comment, and share (or whatever the Youtubers say).

  3. ARC Goal - 500 Per New Release

This is probably my most realistic goal. We've gotten so close before and I'm determined to make a more concerted effort with the bookstagrammers. I'll likely be reaching out to some of you in the coming months to see if you'd like to be on the ARC team for either release. Even if you don't, if you know someone else who may be interested, the ARC application is always open and lives here.

  4. Review Goal - 500 for each existing publication

Shockingly, this one feels like the hardest goal. I don't know what it is about getting folks to leave a review, but even with 300+ ARCs, past releases have only generated about 125 reviews. So I'm not sure I have the answer here. But if anyone knows where I can get some ✨ magic review beans ✨, call me.

  5. One Special Edition

I may or may not have something in the works...that's all I have to say for now.

  6. Website Refresh

I've been working on this for a hot minute, and I'm very excited! I feel like I've struggled with my brand identity over the years, and I recently realized that I am my brand. It shouldn't have taken this long to figure that out, but I digress. But that means that the baroque, traditional romantic vibe I keep in my home is what I'm truly about. So, the website will be getting a facelift here shortly, as well as some new features since I'm going to be rolling out exclusive content for upcoming releases. More to come!

  7. Last but certainly not least - I want to meet some of you IRL!

I am not planning on attending any reader cons as an author this year (I've actually never attended one), but I am trying to hit at least one of the major romance cons as an attendee. I'll drop feelers once I figure out which one, but if any of you are going to be there, a mini meet-up would be fun!

In the meantime, you know the rules!

Have fun, feel good, be safe!

R. A. Moreau
